About MHE® Impregnation

MHE® represent another complete outstanding family of cost-efficient products, without any classified hazardous chemicals, in nature biodegradable fire/flame retardant/suppressant/ products, developed on low carbon sustainability innovation technology. Patents have been granted throughout the world.

Most fire/flame retardants/suppressants in use today contain many harmful chemicals that migrate the treated host material, polluting the environment - ground water and soil. Upon combustion these harmful chemicals release toxic gases that might kill or cause severe respiratory injuries to humans. These chemicals will frequently have a negative impact on human genes, which will affect future generations.

This is NOT the case with "MHE®" which family of fire retardants /fire supressants/ only contain food grade chemicals (in approved quantities and concentrations) of a type found in daily foodstuffs, e.g., grapes, fruit and bread. The products are developed by chemical reactions between weak organic acids and in-organic alkali hydroxides - organic salt with adjustable pH - which have been consumed by humans during thousands of years, without any negative impact on health or environment.



MHE® is a gamechanger representing a technical shift in the global fire retardant market place. It is a patented range of no classified hazardous fire retardants and processes, which utilise human chemistry compatible food grade components to provide a high performance, cost effective alternative to current potentially harmful, environmentally costly fire retardant products, many of which are being phased out due to environmental concerns and as a result of new legislation.


MHE® is considered to be a market changing technology capable of replacing many currently utilised fire retardants as a cost effective high functioning family of fire retardants in a wide range of material applications. The global fire retardant industry is worth $6-7 billion USD per annum (2016) with a market growth of 6.9% annually.

  • MHE® flame retardants are developed to be applied on synthetic host materials, like polymer, plastic and fibre materials.

  • MHE® is a family of low carbon, non-toxic, eco-friendly, sustainable flame retardant products. Our flame retardant products only consist of food grade chemicals in respect of approved quantities and concentrations, similar to what you find in daily foodstuff, e.g. in grapes, fruits and bread. It ought to reduce the risk of any future genetic impact on humans and other living organisms in nature.

  • MHE® is based on a sustainable innovation product technology. A bio-mimicry flame retardant [FR] product technology built upon naturally occurring properties of naturally occurring chemicals. The majority of its constituent products can be sourced easily and locally, almost anywhere in the world. MHE® products' core ingredients are renewable and materially biodegradable.

  • MHE® constituent products can be produced in a way which is potentially compatible with, and partially as a by-product of human food production. MHE® products' carbon footprint are therefore potentially much lower than other flame retardants, known today.


MHE® applications

MHE® can be flexibly adapted to meet the specific needs of your materials and products - in various forms:

  • MHE® powder consists of small rounded very tiny particles, produced in a size less than 0.005 millimeter (5 micron). The particles are carefully dried to achieve a dry substance above 99.8%, before packed and sealed for distribution. A MHE® thermogravimetric analysis [TGA] shows to meet the market demands on a flame retardant in similarity to the bench-mark of PBDE. MHE® soft coated powder is water resistant. MHE® uncoated powder, for example added into PU (polyurethane) foams [MDI or TDI], MHE® acts as a reactant that remains as a stable compound of the PU foam, totally water resistant.

  • MHE® paste is a dispersion specially made for surface top coating FR protection to be applied when no other application methods are available. MHE® paste is primarily used as a surface protection layer treatment on polymer materials for example polyester fibre material insulation blocks.

  • MHE® aqueous solutions are specially designed for FR penetrations of natural fibre materials like canvas, cotton fibers, Kraft-paper, cigarette filters and other paper product applications. i.e.


  • Active Fire Fighting - MHE®FF powder particles respectively MHE®PFF aqueous solution is recommended for usage in wild forest fires, as well as in fire extinguishers respectively Hi-Fog sprinkler systems.


  • MHE® might act as a Foam Agent in compressed air foam systems.


    Note that the MHE® aqueous solution is only a carrier of MHE® active substances with the mission to improve the penetration into fibrous materials when required
